The Story to live together

It is becoming more and more difficult to find new levers for the professions related to farming and seafaring traditions of Cetara and for this reason, the Association “Amici delle Alici” wishes to enhance this heritage of skills through the creation of a documentary. Luigi is putting together the crew that will collect the video and photo material. He needs curious people who can grasp the soul of this community.

Luigi, Experiential Travel Guide

Hi, I’m Luigi, an environmental and hiking guide. Meet me on the coast, among the scents and colors of the Mediterranean maquis we will recognize the wild herbs and admire beautiful lemon groves overlooking the sea. Our destination is Cetara, a village of Fishermen/ Farmers, where we will discover one of the products of excellence of my land, the “anchovies casting”. So are you ready for this fantastic adventure?

What we can do together

  • Meeting with Luigi at the Abbey of Badia di Cava de’ Tirreni and organization of the mission. The prior welcomes us to explain the millennial history of the interweaving between the life of the monks and the reality of the territory
  • Walking on “the path of the formichelle” in the direction of Cetara we deepen our knowledge of herbs
  • At the port of Cetara we meet the fisherman Alfonso who is repairing his nets and other fishermen who share with us stories about their life and job
  • In Gennaro’s lab, next to the restaurant “Acquapazza”, we learn to eviscerate and salt anchovies
  • Inside the Restaurant, Gennaro entertains us through the tasting of anchovy products and moulding
  • At the restaurant Acquapazza the troupe presents the material collected to the President of the association, celebrations and thanks
